About Nova Art

Nova Art Tattoo Studio

Nova Art was founded by Roxanne Rosa in 2018 in Haarlem. Deborah Kromodjojo has been working with Nova from the third month that we opened so she was a part of Nova since the beginning. In 2022 she became co-owner.

With Nova Art, we want to establish a studio where everyone dares to cross the threshold. Even if you have not fully made up your mind about your tattoo, you can come for a consult and discuss your idea while you get a feeling of our vibe.
Nova Art’ literally translates as ‘new art’. This name was specifically chosen because we always want to do our best to help every customer to create a design that is not copied from Pinterest. Therefore, we prefer not to do specific tattoos that we get a lot of requests for. An infinity symbol, for example, is something that we as a shop have chosen not to tattoo anymore.

We work without a shopmanager so unfortunately walking in without an appointment is not possible. We would like to take the time to be able to help you with questions, so try to ask them first via Whatsapp or phone.

We do not discriminate between people, everyone is welcome. A tattoo studio should be a safe space where everyone feels comfortable and safe. Especially the QTBIPOC community. Our studio is wheelchair friendly.
You can always bring 1 person to your appointment. Animals and children under the age of 13 are not allowed.

We hope you will step into a studio that will make you happy. One that feels pleasant and inspires you.

That you’ll be treated kindly  and want to share your experience with family and friends.

You are free to bring your (best) friend with you when you get tattooed, but we hope that you also just feel relaxed when you come alone for your tattoo. Will you let us know if we succeeded?

We love a personal touch. In our work as well as the connection with our clients.

All artists that are working at Nova have their own page on this website. This way you can meet the person behind the art to see who will fit better with your personality. We find it important that you will feel comfortable with every aspect of the tattoo process.

You can also follow all artists on their own social media and the shop as well. We often have special offers and discounts for our clients and followers.

Roxanne has been supporting various charities since before she started Nova Art. Because there is always a way you can contribute to the world you live in. Everyone can do something, in their own way. And this is Nova Art’s way.

Among others, we support the Bee is Life foundation, Save Tigers Now for the tigers and Save Elephant.org for the elephants in Thailand. In addition, we have the option to help you as a vegan by using vegan products throughout the tattoo process.

Our studio

Our studio in Haarlem is located 500 meters walking distance from Haarlem railway station and right across a parking garage. At www.interparking.nl you can buy a day ticket for € 10,-.

The studio is open from tuesday until saturday from 11:00 am – 18:00 pm. Haarlem is our big studio where we have room for five tattooists. Here you will also find the collection of our Nova Art Crystals.

Contributing to the world we live in is important to us at Nova Art. Everyone in their own way; at Nova Art we do that by donating to carefully selected foundations. Read below which charities we support and why.

Nova Art for the Bees

For every tattoo we do at Nova Art we donate € 10,- to the foundation bijenisleven.nl.

Every time we raise a total amount of € 500, – we donate a bee hive. This means that a hive will be built which will house a new bee population. So through your bee tattoo bees are born!

Pollination by insects is necessary for over 80% of food crops. Honey bees, solitary bees and bumblebees ensure the growth of fruits and vegetables such as apples, raspberries, peppers and avocados. Even for coffee, sunflower oil and mustard we depend on the bees.

We have now donated € 1000.

Nova Art for Pandoga

The new cause we are supporting is Pandoga H.O.P.E. (Help Other People&Pets Evolve). The founder of this wonderful initiative is Aimee. Aimee is a professional dog trainer with a personal touch. She gives workshops and helps people and dogs in their homes in their own environment.

Pandoga H.O.P.E. is a project that originated during a trip to Thailand where she did volunteer work in animal care. The goal of Pandoga is to form a better understanding in strengthening the bond between people and dogs worldwide.

Adopt a Furry Friend on Koh Phangan is a charity that helps street dogs. Aimee started there four years ago helping foster care puppies and in rehabilitating traumatized dogs. The goal is to improve living conditions for the street dogs. They do this by helping to strengthen the bonds between the dogs and people in the communities where they live together. Through proper training, people will no longer perceive the dogs as a nuisance or a nuisance. As a result, fewer dogs will be mistreated or put down.

Go to the Facebook Page of Adopt a Furry Friend for more information.

We have now donated € 500 to Pandoga.

Nova Art for the tigers

With every tiger tattoo, €20 goes to savetigersnow.org. Savetigersnow is a global campaign of World Wildlife Fund and Leonardo DiCaprio. It is well known that tigers are not doing well.

Unfortunately, this is largely due to poachers who trade every part of the tiger on the illigal market. In addition, humans and tigers ‘fight’ for habitat.

Forests are cut down, forcing the tigers to hunt for livestock on which local people and communities have to live. As a result, tigers are captured or killed and sold on the black market.

There are currently only 3890 tigers left in the wild on our planet.

We have now donated € 130.

Nova Art for the elephants

Roxanne went to Thailand in 2018. Despite being the national symbol, the elephant is not treated equally everywhere.

World Animal Protection is dedicated to wild animals, animals in communities, livestock and animals in disaster situations. For elephants in particular, they have already been able to make a big difference. Click on the image for more information about their work with elephants in Thailand.

We have already donated € 100.

Nova Art for Australia

The wildfires in Australia have surely not escaped your notice. These fires have taken the lives of a trillion animals, so we wanted to do everything in our power to help the animals in need. Roxanne has created special designs where 100% of the proceeds go to selected foundations.

We raised and donated € 1245.

Nova Art Flashday

On September 7, we held a flash day for charity. €5,- from each tattoo went to a good cause. Each artist had chosen a charity to donate to.

  • Roxanne has chosen the foundation Bee is Life.
  • Deborah has chosen for Trees4All
  • Jenya has chosen foundation De Noordzee
  • Johe has chosen foundation Monkey.
